How do I install Canon BJC-55 ink on my printer?

  1. Turn on the machine, then press the CARTRIDGE button.
  2. Wait for the cartridge holder to stop at the center and the power light to start flashing.
  3. Open the printer’s top cover, then press the hooks to release the used cartridges.
  4. Remove the used ink from the machine by pulling it up.
  5. Get your new CompAndSave Canon BJC 55 cartridge. Open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any mess in case it leaks, as sometimes, factories tend to overfill the ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color along with the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  6. Insert the new cartridges. Make sure the filter is at the bottom part of the machine. Press them down gently until it snaps lock into place.
  7. Close the printer’s top cover, then press the CARTRIDGE button to complete the process.

What ink does the Canon BJC-55 use?
The Canon BJC-55 uses the Canon BCI-10 black ink cartridge, BCI-11 black and color cartridges, BCI-12 photo black and color ink cartridges. CompandSave offers the compatible Canon BCI-10, BC1-11 and BCI-12 ink cartridges that are in high-quality printer and budget-friendly. To know more about remanufactured and compatible ink cartridges, check our Ink Knowledge Base.
Why is Canon ink so expensive?
Canon inks are so expensive since big printer companies claim that the technology and process to produce printer inks are costly. However, this is also a way to regain profit for their low-cost printers. They sell expensive original ink cartridges to earn more since you will need to buy more cartridges in the long run. As a consumer, you have the option to use remanufactured or compatible Canon cartridges that will not void your warranty as stated in the MAGNUSON-MOSS WARRANTY IMPROVEMENT ACT, United States Code Annotated Title 15 Commerce Trade Chapter 50, Consumer Product Warranties 15 Sections 2302.
