How do I change the toner on my Brother HL-L8260CDW?

  1. Pull the front cover open by pressing the front cover release button.
  2. Remove the drum unit from the machine until it comes to a halt by holding the green handle of the drum unit.
  3. To free the toner cartridge, hold the handle and gradually push it away from you. Remove it from the drum unit by pulling it up and out.
  4. Get your new CompAndSave Brother HL-L8260cdw toner cartridge. Open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any mess in case it leaks, as sometimes, factories tend to overfill the toner cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color along with the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  5. Pull the toner cartridge toward you until it locks into position in the drum unit. Make sure that the color of the toner cartridge matches the color of the drum unit's label. Repeat with the remaining toner cartridges.
  6. Push the drum unit back into the machine with the green handle until it locks in place.
  7. Close the front lid of the machine.

    We were printing great then all of a sudden the cyan powder starting leaking out and making tiny marks on the copies. But when I went to pull the tray out to investigate the cyan had powder spilled in many areas in the printer. After cleaning it out twice and replacing the cyan with another one we bought from you , we are back to printing so far with no leaking.
