How do I install Canon PIXMA MP520 ink cartridges?

  1. Turn on your printer. Open the paper output tray by pressing the Open button.
  2. Lift the scanner unit.
  3. The ink cartridge's carriage will automatically move, so make sure to wait for it to completely stop moving before you proceed.
  4. Open the inner cover. Remove the used ink cartridge from its slot by pressing the tab on the front of the cartridge and then pull it out.
  5. Get your new CompAndSave Canon MP520 ink cartridge. Open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any mess in case it leaks, as sometimes, factories tend to overfill the ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color along with the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  6. Insert the new Canon MP500 printer ink cartridge into its correct color slot until it snaps lock into place.
  7. Close the cover, then the scanning unit.
