How to change Dell 1710 toner cartridge on printer?

  1. Press the button at the left side of the machine to open the front cover.
  2. Push the button on the print cartridge assembly's base.
  3. Locate the toner handle and use it to pull the cartridge out of the machine.
  4. Get your new CompAndSave Dell 1710 toner cartridge. Gently shake the cartridge to evenly distribute the toner. Open the cartridge over a sink or garbage can to avoid any messes in case of a powder leak as sometimes, factories tend to overfill toner cartridges. Avoid touching the bottom part of the toner, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  5. Make sure not to leave the printer open for more than 10 minutes to avoid exposing the imaging unit to direct light.
  6. Put the new toner cartridge in by aligning the rollers and the arrows. Push the toner cartridge until it clicks in place.
  7. Close the printer's cover.

Most Common Dell 1710 Toner Cartridge Questions

How long does a toner cartridge last?
Toner cartridges' shelf life are from 1 year - 2 years depending on the condition that you store them in. Unused cartridges should be kept in a cool dark place that is away from bleach or ammonia. CompAndSave's cartridges are fresh from the factory every month and have a tested shelf life of at least 20 months.
Are high yield toner cartridges worth it?
Yes. Purchasing XL cartridges is preferable since they function the same as normal cartridges but can print more pages. That being said, you won't have to buy and install fresh toner as frequently as you would if you were using standard toner. Although it's a bit pricier, using an XL toner cartridge will save you money in the long term since the cost of printing each page with an XL toner is way less than the cost per page of using a standard yield toner.
