No mention of the toner requiring this on their site and is a bit misleading since it says "Proven and tested to work like the OEM cartridge."Was this review helpful?

Review for Replacement HP CF258X Toner Cartridge - 58X Black - High YieldThe replacement cartridge is working perfectly. The installation, however, was difficult. I did not now at the time of purchase that you had to remove a very small chip from the OEM cartridge and place it in the replacement cartridge. That process was extremely difficult and stressful for me, and it took about a half hour. I was surprised that I was able to do it (almost giving up) and do not look forward to doing it again when the replacement cartridge has to be replaced.Was this review helpful?
