How do I change the ink in my Brother MFC-490CW Printer?
- Check the printer's LCD to know which cartridge is empty, then open the cartridge cover.
- Gently press the lever of the empty ink cartridge to unlock and remove it from the printer.
- Get your new CompAndSave Brother MFC-490CW cartridges. Open it over a sink or a garbage can to avoid any mess such as leaking as sometimes, factories tend to overfill the ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
- Insert the ink cartridge in the direction following the arrow as shown on the label and insert it to its respective slot. Push the ink cartridge gently until it snaps, then close the ink access cover.
