Brother MFC-665CW Ink Cartridges FAQs
- Can I use generic ink in Brother printer?
- Absolutely! CompAndSave's generic, compatible, replacement, or remanufactured ink cartridges are designed to meet or exceed the OEM specifications. This means that you can get the same print quality and number of prints without paying as much compared to original Brother ink cartridges. Aside from this, using generic ink cartridges will never void the printer's warranty, so you can shop and use our ink cartridges without any worry. For more information about our ink cartridges, click our Ink Knowledge Base and you will be redirected to the right page.
- Can Brother printer work without color cartridge?
- By default, all Brother printer models are designed to stop printing when one or more ink cartridges are empty. To temporarily print with black only, on your computer open the Control Panel, then Hardware and Sound, followed by Devices and Printers. Once this is open you should see the icon for your printer, right click the icon then select Printer Properties. On the General tab, you should see a button that says Preferences and click it to open. Next step is to change the media type to Plain Paper and make sure that Slow Drying Paper is unchecked. Go to the Advance tab and then check the Grayscale option, press Apply then OK to apply the changes. Although this option is available, we highly recommend to replace any empty ink cartridges to avoid any printing issues.
