How to Replace the Brother PT-1170 Tape Cartridge?

  1. Open the back part of the label maker.
  2. Carefully pull the used cartridge out from the label maker.
  3. Get your new CompAndSave Brother P-Touch 1170 tape cartridge, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  4. Insert the new tape cartridge into the slot until it is secured in place.
  5. Close the back cover.

Most label makers are both compatible with TZ and TZe tapes, make sure to check the logo on your printer to check if it only uses TZe tapes. When it comes to difference, TZe tapes use less plastic compared to TZ tapes which makes TZe tapes more environmentally friendly.
Are TZ and TZe tapes interchangeable?
Check the logo on your label maker, you should find a logo that says TZ and TZe, for those models TZ and TZe tapes can be interchanged. But if the logo on your label maker says TZe only, then it means that your label maker can only use TZe type of tapes.
