How to Install Epson C88 Ink Cartridges?
- Make sure that the printer is turned on.
- Open the printer's top cover and then press and release the Ink icon button. Do not press this button for more than three seconds or the printer will automatically go to printhead cleaning process.
- The ink cartridge's carriage will automatically move, so make sure to wait for it to completely stop moving before you proceed.
- Open the ink cartridge lid and press the tab at the end of the cartridge that needs to be replaced to release it, then pull the cartridge out from the printer.
- Get your new CompAndSave Epson Stylus C88 ink cartridge. Shake the ink cartridge for about 4 to 5 times before opening it from the package. Open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any messes in case it leaks as sometimes, factories tend to overfill ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
- Insert the new ink cartridge to its respective slot. Push the cartridge until it snaps lock into place. Then close the ink cartridge lid.
- Close the printer's top cover and press the Ink icon button to start the ink charging process. Let this finish on its own to avoid wasting ink.

- What kind of ink is with Epson C88?

- Will my Epson printer work with just black ink?
- By default, most Epson printer models stops printing when a color ink cartridge runs out. To temporarily print with only black, stop and cancel any pending print job through the Epson printer program. Next is, to access "Printer Settings". Go to main tab and then select "Quality Option", followed by selecting "Plain Papers" or "Envelope" for the type setting. After this put a check in "Grayscale" option and press "OK".

I would think that to go to the trouble it takes to know the printers brand a small step to learn the model number should be but child's play.
