How to Install Epson Stylus CX4800 Ink Cartridges?

  1. Make sure that the printer is turned on and the document cover is closed.
  2. Lift the printer's scanner assembly. Then press and release the 'Ink' icon button. Do not press this button for more than 3 seconds, or the printer will go through the printhead cleaning process.
  3. The ink cartridge's carriage will automatically move to the replacement position, so make sure to wait for it to completely stop moving before you proceed. Do not manually move or stop the carriage as it may damage the printer.
  4. Open the ink cartridge lid and then press the tab at the end of the cartridge that needs to be replaced to release it. Then pull the cartridge out from the printer.
  5. Get your new CompAndSave Epson CX4800 ink cartridge, shake the ink cartridge for about four to six times before opening it from the package. Open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any messes in case it leaks as sometimes, factories tend to overfill ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  6. Insert the new ink cartridge to its respective slot push it in until it snaps lock into place. Then close the ink cartridge lid.
  7. Put the scanner assembly back into place and then press the 'Ink' icon button. The printer will go through the ink charging process let this finish on its own to avoid wasting ink.
