How to Install HP LaserJet 508A Toner Cartridges?
- Open the printer's toner access door.
- Grab the toner cartridge that needs to be replaced by its handle, then carefully pull it out from the printer.
- Get your new CompAndSave HP 508A cartridge. Open the cartridge over a sink or garbage can to avoid any messes in case of a powder leak as sometimes, factories tend to overfill toner cartridges. Gently shake the toner cartridge for about five to six times and avoid touching the bottom part of the toner, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
- Carefully align and insert the new HP cartridge 508A into its respective slot until it is firmly seated in place.
- Close the toner access door.

- In terms of size and printer compatibility HP 508A and HP 508X are practically the same. The only difference is the high yield HP 508X can print more pages compared to the standard yield HP 508A toner cartridges. Standard yield HP 508A can only print up to 6,000 pages for the black and up to 5,000 pages for cyan, magenta, and yellow. The high yield HP 508X on the other hand, can print up to 12,500 pages for black and up to 9,500 pages for cyan, magenta, and yellow.
