Canon PIXMA MG7720 Ink Replacement Guide
- Make sure that the printer is turned on. Open the printer's operation panel to access the Canon MG7720 ink cartridges.
- The ink cartridge carriage will move automatically. Please wait for it to get into a complete stop before proceeding.
- Gently push the tab by the end to release the ink cartridge from its slot.
- Lift the cover or latch then pull the ink out of the printer.
- Get your new CompAndSave Canon PIXMA MG7720 ink cartridge. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color and the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it. Open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any mess in case it leaks, as sometimes factories tend to overfill ink cartridges.
- Insert the new Canon MG 7720 ink cartridge into its respective slot. You should hear a snap indicating that it's properly locked in place.
- Close the ink cartridge access door, then try to print a test page.
Canon MG7720 Ink Cartridges FAQs
What ink does Canon MG7720 use?
Canon PIXMA MG7720 uses PGI-270XL ink for pigment black and CLI-271XL for dye-based black, cyan, magenta, and yellow ink cartridges. Why are there two black ink cartridges in my Canon printer?
Some Canon PIXMA printers have two black ink cartridges for different reasons. The larger and thicker one is the PG black which uses pigment-based ink and is mainly used for printing regular documents. The smaller and thinner black uses dye-based ink which is mainly for printing photos.
Can I use a different ink cartridge for my Canon printer?
If what you mean by "different" is different brands of ink cartridges such as Epson, Brother, or HP, then the answer is no. It will not work with your Canon printer as they have different fittings and printer compatibility. You can, however, use an after-market brand. Just make sure that the ink cartridge that you are going to use is the right model for your printer. CompAndSave offers compatible Canon ink cartridges that are designed to match or exceed OEM specifications. This means that you can get the same quality and number of prints without paying as much compared to original ink cartridges. I have bought and used ...Review for Compatible Canon CLI-271 Magenta Ink Cartridge XL - CLI-271XLM/0338C001 - High YieldI have bought and used these cartridges a number of times since getting the printer. They work well and do display ink level unlike the HP cartridges I recently received. The ink life seems as limited as the original Canon cartridges I have bought in the past. They are a better value than the Canon OEM cartridges. Was this review helpful?
