Epson WF-C5290 Ink Cartridges FAQs

Why is Epson ink so expensive?

OEM ink and toner manufacturers claim that the high cost of these cartridges is due to the research and development of technologies to deliver high-quality ink and toners. However, it is worth noting that there are generic cartridges that exceed OEM requirements while being less expensive than their counterparts. CompAndSave's compatible and replacement ink and toner cartridges are engineered to meet or exceed OEM standards. That means to say, you can have the same print quality and page output without spending a fortune. Please keep in mind that using generic, remanufactured, or replacement cartridges will never void the warranty on your printer. Why does my Epson printer run out of ink so fast?

There are a lot of reasons why your Epson printer runs out of ink so quickly. Faulty cartridge, habitual printer cleanings, incorrect printer settings, frequent use of large fonts and bolds, or printing excessively. The amount of ink that the printer will use varies based on what is being printed, what print quality is selected, and what paper type is being used. To make your Epson ink cartridge last longer, avoid large fonts and bolds, adjust your printer settings and choose “Print in Grayscale” to save your color ink to extend the life of the cartridge. It is also highly encouraged you to replace any empty ink cartridges to avoid printing issues. CompAndSave offers a wide variety of printer ink cartridges at a much lesser price without compromising its quality, so you can print to your heart's content.

Does printer ink dry out?

Yes, they do, if you don't use your printer on a regular basis. Printer inks are liquid-based, which means that the ink inside the cartridge can evaporate and dry out. To avoid this, you can store unopened ink cartridges in a dry and cool place. If the cartridge is already installed in your printer, make it a habit to at least print once a week or run the printer cleaning maintenance to keep the nozzles moist.
