How to install HP 61 printer ink cartridges
- Make sure that the printer is turned on and have a stack of plain paper loaded before opening the cartridge door.
- Once the cartridge door has been opened, lift the lid found on top of it, gently press it downwards to release the cartridge from its slot, and then pull it out from the printer.
- Get your new HP 61 printer ink cartridge, open it over a sink or garbage can avoid any messes in case it leaks as sometimes, factories tend to overfill ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color and the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
- Lastly, insert the new ink cartridge into its respective slot. You should hear a snap indicating that it's locked in place.
- Close the ink cartridge access door, then try to print a test page.
