How to change HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 ink replacement cartridges on printer?

  1. Make sure that the printer is turned on.
  2. Gently open the HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 ink cartridges access door which can be found in front of the printer.
  3. The ink cartridge carriage will automatically move so make sure to wait for it to completely stop moving before you proceed.
  4. To release the ink cartridge, just gently push it then pull it out of the printer.
  5. Get your new CompAndSave HP Officejet 8720 ink cartridge. Open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any mess in case it leaks as sometimes, factories tend to overfill ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  6. Insert the HP 8720 ink cartridge to its respective slot, you should hear a snap indicating that it is locked in place.
  7. Close the ink cartridge access door then try to print a test page.

What ink does HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 use?
HP Officejet Pro 8720 can either use the standard yield HP 952 or the high yield HP 952XL ink cartridges in black, cyan, magenta and yellow. It is also compatible with the HP 956XL black ink cartridge.
Are HP 951 and 952 ink cartridges the same?
The answer is no. HP 951 and HP 952 are not interchangeable. HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 printer only uses HP 952 or HP 952XL ink cartridges. This printer is not compatible with HP 951 printer ink and vice versa.
