Gently shake the toner cartridge for five to six times and avoid touching the bottom part of the toner, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  4. Insert the new toner cartridge into its slot until it is firmly seated in place.
  5. Close the printer's front cover.

Canon imageCLASS LBP7200 Toner Cartridge FAQs

Are toner cartridges cheaper than ink cartridges?

In terms of cost-per-page laser toner cartridges are cheaper compared to regular inkjet cartridges. This is because toner cartridges are designed for office or business use, which requires a large amount of printing on a daily basis, while inkjet cartridges are mainly for small office or home use. A toner cartridge can print up to 1,000 to 45,000 pages, depending on their yield, while regular inkjet cartridges can only print from 100 to 1000 pages. So with that being said, a toner cartridge can be way cheaper compared to regular ink in the long run.

What is the difference between original and compatible toner cartridges?

OEM or Original Equipment Manufactured cartridges are toner cartridges that are made by the same company that manufactured the printer. Compatible toner cartridges, on the other hand, are produced and filled by third party companies. The parts used are brand new and are not recycled from OEM toner cartridges. The same procedure applies to compatible ink cartridges. Both provide the same quality of printouts, but the compatibles may surpass the OEM and are sold at a much cheaper price.

Why is my toner cartridge not working?

First, make sure that you are using the right toner cartridge for your printer. To verify, you may check the printer's manual and check if you installed the right model number of toner on your printer. Next, is to remove the toner cartridge from the printer, then shake the toner cartridge 5 to 6 times. Make sure to cover the cartridge with plastic to avoid leaking. After this, make sure that the toner is properly seated to its slot and make sure that it is secured in place.
